ASTORIA, QUEENS After endorsing Comptroller Scott Stringer s mayoral bid at the end of 2020, Queens city council member Costa Constantinides announced Tuesday that his second vote will go to former Department of Sanitation Commissioner Kathryn Garcia.
Constantinides, who represents District 22 in Astoria and chairs the council s Environmental Protection Committee, told Patch that he chose to rank Stringer first, followed by Garcia, because of their climate plans.

After suffering a long and difficult battle with COVID, City Councilman Costa Constantinides (D-Astoria) announced Wednesday he’ll be stepping down from elected office to take a job heading a non-profit.
Constantinides, the head of the Council’s Environmental Protection Committee, came down with coronavirus early on in the pandemic. Since then, he has been open with his struggles with the disease, as his wife has also faced her own health challenges.
“My time in office has not been without heartbreak and challenges at home. My wife has not been well for a long time and her condition has deteriorated over the last seven years,” the Queens councilman said Wednesday. “I am thankful for her love and support despite the challenging personal health struggles she has gone through.”

.- One of Bob Dylans most important early albums, Bringing It All Back Home from 1965, has the kind of cover that can strain eyes and fuel speculation. It is a photograph of Dylan, in a black jacket, sitting in a room full of bric-a-brac that may or may not mean something, staring into the camera as a woman in a red outfit lounges in the background.
Fans became so fixated on deciphering it, the music journalist Neil McCormick wrote in The Daily Telegraph of London last year, that a rumor took hold that the woman was Dylan in drag, representing the feminine side of his psyche.
