SIDMAN â Classrooms in Pennsylvania are empty, and restaurants, too. So administrators and teachers at Forest Hills School District are looking at different ways to serve students, feed those in need and help the owners of local eateries.
âWeâre truly looking at supporting each other for the good of the community,â Director of Education Lucas Jacobs said.
On Dec. 17, Forest Hills launched several satellite education sites for kids seeking in-person instruction amid the COVID-19 pandemic. The satellite sites are located at the South Fork Public Library, Beaverdale Public Library, St. Michael fire hall, Dunlo fire hall, Summerhill fire hall and Summerhill Borough Municipal Building.

Lewes students participate in Emerson stage productions
Emerson College announced two Lewes residents participated in its virtual stage productions this fall. Lewes resident Caitlin Hudecheck was credited as stage manager for Jaclyn Backhaus’ “Men On Boats.” This production tells the story of the 1869 expedition of a one-armed captain and a thrill-seeking crew as they find adventures along the course of the Colorado River. Hudecheck is pursuing a degree in stage and production management. Jolisa Osborn-Polakoff of Lewes was credited as a costume designer for “The Resistible Rise of Arturo Ui.” This play uses parody to create a dark allegory that warns of the persistence of fascism.

Friends, family, representatives of the Bethel Chamber of Commerce, as well as First Selectman Matt Knickerbocker (by Facetime while quarantining), celebrated Patricia Hutchinson’s new ownership of Peachwave at a grand reopening on December 3. Knickerbocker started the ribbon-cutting countdown.
As manager for five years, Hutchinson was already well known at the frozen yogurt shop on Greenwood Avenue.
