2 killed, 5 wounded in overnight shootings across Philadelphia, police say Published  The victim, a 30-year-old man, was pronounced dead a short time after the shooting.  PHILADELPHIA - Two men are dead and five others are wounded following a violent night of gun violence across Philadelphia, including a triple shooting that injured two teens.  Authorities in Fairmount responded to the 4500 block of Poplar Street just after 10 p.m. Wednesday for reports of gunfire. Officers found a 29-year-old man shot in the head, chest and legs. The unidentified victim was taken to Penn Presbyterian Hospital where he died, according to police. Officers did not immediately announce any arrests following the deadly shooting.

Police say 19th district officers were flagged down by a car on the 4000 block of Lancaster Avenue just after 10 p.m. The driver told police he was driving his cousin to the hospital after he had been shot multiple times in the back.

Man, 33, shot and killed near family s home in West Philadelphia, police say Published  A 33-year-old man was shot and killed near his family s home in West Philadelphia, police said. WEST PHILADELPHIA - Police are searching for a shooter after a man was gunned down near his family s home early Wednesday morning in West Philadelphia.  Officers from the Philadelphia Police Department found the 33-year-old victim lying on the sidewalk on the 800 block of North 50th Street with gunshot wounds to the head and chest, according to Chief Inspector Scott Small.  Officers drove the man to Penn Presbyterian Hospital where he died just after 2 a.m. 

5 Shootings Leave 2 People Dead and 5 Others Hurt in Philadelphia on Monday

A day after 16 people were shot and four killed in Philadelphia, the violence in the city continued with three people killed and five others injured in six separate shootings across the city Monday afternoon into the evening. The first shooting occurred on the 3100 block of Jasper Street at 3:55 p.m. Monday. A 20-year-old man was shot once in the chest while a 28-year-old man was shot once in the left elbow and grazed in the left hip. Both victims were taken to Temple University Hospital. The 20-year-old man was pronounced dead at 4:20 p.m. while the 28-year-old man is in stable condition.
