Pa. budget: Colleges would get no increase, or cut, in Gov. Wolf’s plan Updated Feb 03, 2021; At a glance: Gov. Tom Wolf’s 2021-22 budget keeps spending level for the state-owned universities, along with Penn State and other public universities. What it means: Wolf is proposing no change in spending for the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education, which oversees the 14 state-owned schools, including Shippensburg, Millersville and West Chester universities. Wolf’s proposal keeps spending at $477 million for the system. The state system’s governing board had requested an increase of $35 million. The system is dealing with formidable financial challenges and declining enrollment and is exploring the combination of some universities.

This socially distant performance will have limited in-person tickets available for both nights. As well as tickets for a multi-camera, “up close and personal” live stream of the Saturday night performance, all of which is now on sale at the Community Arts Center box office. This show is sponsored in part through a partnership with Hudock Capital Group. All CDC and state health recommendations and procedures will be adhered to for this event.

Projects such as hospital upgrades, new locations, expanded services and even a hospital police force will be coming to many of the local UPMC facilities starting this spring. Though many of the details of such projects are yet to be determined, Johnson has a lot of hope for UPMC and what 2021 looks like for them. DuBoistown Borough is expected to gain a new Primary Care Office for Family Medicine and other outpatient practices this spring.

Hospital upgrades, new locations, expanded services and even a hospital police force will be coming to a multitude of the local UPMC facilities starting this spring. Though many of the details are yet to be determined, Johnson has a lot of hope for UPMC and what 2021 looks like for them. “No question about it, (Lock Haven Hospital) is in need of a facility upgrade,” he said. “The doctors and nurses at Lock Haven have just done an outstanding job amidst the challenges (fire and COVID-19).”
