On April 8, 2020, Lower Nazareth Township supervisors voted to enter into an agreement of sale to purchase the Newburg Inn Grillhouse and Bar for $423,000. The plan is to demolish the building that was built in 1750 to widen the road for improvements to the intersection of Newburg Road and Route 191, also known as Nazareth Pike.

The Newburg Inn is too shoddy to fix up and too close to Route 191.
So the 261-year-old historic structure is going to come down. Lower Nazareth Township is seeking bids from demolition contractors to tear down the former Newburg Inn Grillhouse and Bar.
Two weeks before deadline, lawmaker says it would be a miracle if Mount Rose/I-83 project wraps by then
York Dispatch
Just two weeks before the completion deadline, the contractor behind the delayed Interstate 83/Mount Rose Avenue project is seeking approval from the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation for several key features needed to wrap up the job.
However, PennDOT contends the final details of the project were already approved when the contract was signed six years ago.
PennDOT officials have said the project will be completed by May 11, but officials with Cherry Hill Construction said they can deliver the project in 90 days after approval for a barrier installation and paving is granted, according to a statement provided by parent-company Tutor Perini.
Apr 29, 2021 Senate Passes Bill To Halt Bridge Toll Plan
(Harrisburg, PA) The state Senate is passing a bill that would halt the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation s plan to toll nine bridges across the commonwealth. PennDOT has said in the past that the tolls would pay to maintain and repair the bridges, but Republican lawmakers argue that their process has lacked transparency. The bill would have PennDOT undergo a new process for initiatives like the bridge toll plan that would include approval from the Legislature. Democrats and the Wolf administration oppose the bill. The legislation now heads to the state House for consideration.

Let s put this in perspective.
It took seven years for NASA to go from John Glenn orbiting the Earth to Neil Armstrong setting foot on the moon.
So far, Cherry Hill Construction has taken six years to rebuild the Interstate 83 interchange at Mount Rose Avenue. It isn t finished yet.
Back in April 2015, the prospect of having three years of construction to completely reconfigure the exit and some nearby roads seemed daunting, but it seemed worth the time and the $58.3 million price put on the project by Cherry Hill Construction to eventually eliminate the daily traffic backups at the exit.
This is the second extension, with previous deadlines of Oct. 1, 2020, and Oct. 1, 2021.
Congress passed the Real ID Act in 2005 to establish minimum security standards for state-issued driverâs licenses and ID cards.
Why is it important that I consider getting a Real ID?
It will be required for Pennsylvanians to check in at airports, board domestic commercial flights, enter military bases and enter federal facilities that requires ID at the door.
What if I don t want a Real ID?
Youâll need another form of federally acceptable identification such as a military ID of valid passport to enter specific federal facilities and board domestic commercial flights.
