Mullen announces re-election bid for Avoca mayor
Mayor Robert âBobâ Mullen announces his campaign for re-election as Mayor of Avoca Borough. Heâs served in that capacity since 2003 and previously served as member of council.
Mullen said he has supported, promoted and participated in the safety and quality of life for the citizens of Avoca. He said heâs proud of the fact that the Avoca Police Department has kept the community safe and the crime rate low. He has ensured 24/7 police protection during his tenure in office.
He has worked to secure grants to equip our police force with the latest technology and equipment. During his leadership, Avoca saw the construction of a âstate of the artâ borough building.

For the first time in the nearly two decades of the Pennsylvania State Football Coaches Association’s East-West Classic, there will be two games celebrating many of the state’s top players.
One game will involve the smaller schools Classes A-3A with the other featuring talent from Classes 4A-6A.
Gateway coach Don Holl will front the coaching staff for the West squad in the big-school game, marking the third time in his high school coaching career he’s walked the sideline for an all-star contest.
