Ringing in 2021 will be different this year due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Historically, the New Year has been celebrated on Jan. 1 since 45 B.C. as the Julian calendar took effect, according to the History Channel. Many are expected to stay home as Pennsylvania remains in a “precarious place” with the coronavirus and Gov. Tom Wolf last month began advising residents to stay home whenever possible during the holidays.
