WALL, S.D. Around 1:15 p.m. Friday, firefighters from Pennington and Jackson Counties were called to a structure fire in the 400 block of Lariat Drive in Wall.
On arrival at the scene, firefighters found a free-burning fire with a heavy smoke and visible flames in the interior of a shop and storage structure.
Despite facing low relative humidity, wind speeds gusting up to 30 mph, and a Red Flag Warning, crews successfully confined the fire to the initial structure and stopped the spread of the flames to nearby infrastructure.
The adjacent residential structure sustained minor damage. No injuries to civilians, domestic animals, or firefighters were reported.
