122 kínai egyetem 1134 tantárgya szerepel a londoni székhelyű globális felsőoktatási kutatóintézet, a Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) által kiadott 2021-es egyetemi tantárgyi ranglistán, beleértve Hongkongot, Makaót és a Tajvani régiót is. A rangsorban összesen 88 kínai szárazföldi egyetem 731 tantárgya található, közülük 126 esetében a világ 50 legjobbja között vannak, ami az eddigi legjobb eredmény.
A QS adatai szerint az emberiség legsürgetőbb problémáinak megoldását szolgáló kutatások terén a kínai egyetemek kiemelkedően teljesítettek.
