Officials in Albany County say this week, they re on track to administer more than 8,000 COVID vaccines to county residents.
They re working to get shots to many people who may have challenges in securing appointments, as well as people who might be hesitant to get the vaccine at all.
A vaccination pod at the Metropolitan Baptist Church was a big success. Now the county says more will follow as their vaccine supplies are ramping up.
Getting the vaccine into the arms of historically undeserved populations isn t easy. Albany County Executive Dan McCoy says when he stopped by the vaccination clinic at the Washington Avenue Armory earlier this week, just three African Americans were there getting their shots.
Please register, officials plead as vaccine supply increases
With more doses available in Capital Region, some may find it easier to get coronavirus shots
