Ghanta gadi charred in garbage fire, 3 injured

Nanded village on Tuesday
Following a
fire that broke out in the garbage processing plants in Ramtekdi, Hadapsar and Uruli-Phursungi the trend has reached to Nanded garbage depot on Sinhagad Road. The sudden fire on Tuesday afternoon charred the entire Ghanta gadi parked inside the depot and also injured a waste picker couple and an employee belonging to
Nanded Gram Panchayat.
The locals suspect that the fire was lit deliberately to dispose of the waste as the agency which is lifting the waste for processing did not touch it for the last three months. The pile of waste has been dumped at the site for almost two years. With a sizable population, over 20 tonne of waste is generated on a daily basis from Nanded city, Shivane, Gorhe and other surrounding villages.

Four factories set up in the
Narhe area were completely destroyed in a major fire that took place on Wednesday morning, but human casualty was averted as workers of these factories managed to escape from the structures before the fire spread across all units. Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) will soon have India’s first indigenously designed and developed driverless metro car. These trains are being manufactured at BEML Bengaluru Complex.
Defence minister Rajnath Singh on Friday unveiled the state-of-the-art driverless metro car at a function held at BEML’s Bangalore complex.
Calling it a manifestation of the true spirit of ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat, Rajnath Singh said the MMRDA project has 63 per cent indigenous content, which will be enhanced to 75 per cent in the next two to three years.
“This reflects Indian Industry’s overwhelming response to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Atmanairbhar Bharat Abhiyan call” he said, adding that this driver-less metro project will act as a source of inspiration to other Indian companies, particularly the defence industry to help India emerge as a manufacturing hub which, in turn, will fulfil $5 billion defence expor
