Adani Total Gas (ATGL) jumped 6.54% to Rs 1127.45, extending its winning run to fifth consecutive trading session.Shares of ATGL have zoomed nearly 28% in five trading sessions from its previous closing low of Rs 882.1 on 25 March 2021. The counter hit a record high of Rs 1,149.95 in intraday today. The stock has zoomed 1166% from its 52-week low of Rs 89 recorded on 3 April 2020.
Meanwhile, the benchmark index, S&P BSE Sensex tumbled 1036.5 points or 2.07% to 48,993.83 amid broad based sell off.
On the technical front, the stock s RSI (relative strength index) stood at 91.117. The RSI oscillates between zero and 100. Traditionally the RSI is considered overbought when above 70 and oversold when below 30.
Key equity benchmarks were hovering near the day s low in early afternoon trade. At 12:20 IST, the barometer index, the S&P BSE Sensex, tumbled 1,105.25 points or 2.21% at 48,924.58. The Nifty 50 index slumped 308.20 points or 2.07% at 14,559.15.
Barring the Nifty IT index, all the other sectoral indices on the NSE were in the red. Banks and financial shares declined sharply.
Selling was broad based. The S&P BSE Mid-Cap index declined 1.61% while the S&P BSE Small-Cap index lost 1.50%.
The market breadth was weak. On the BSE, 777 shares rose and 1,972 shares fell. A total of 196 shares were unchanged.

The NSE s India VIX, a gauge of market s expectation of volatility over the near term, spurted 13.93% to 22.7725. The Nifty 29 April 2021 futures were trading at 14,580, at a premium of 20.85 points as compared with the spot at 14,559.15.
Healthcare stocks were trading in the positive zone, with the S&P BSE Healthcare index rising 90.64 points or 0.42% at 21619.17 at 09:49 IST. Among the components of the S&P BSE Healthcare index, Neuland Laboratories Ltd (up 6.87%), Shalby Ltd (up 5.5%),Indraprastha Medical Corporation Ltd (up 5.07%),IOL Chemicals & Pharmaceuticals Ltd (up 4.24%),Thyrocare Technologies Ltd (up 3.98%), were the top gainers. Among the other gainers were Suven Life Sciences Ltd (up 3.75%), Dr Lal Pathlabs Ltd (up 3.39%), Apollo Hospitals Enterprise Ltd (up 3.33%), Poly Medicure Ltd (up 3.21%), and Indoco Remedies Ltd (up 3%). On the other hand, Take Solutions Ltd (down 3.6%), Astrazeneca Pharma India Ltd (down 3.21%), and Gufic BioSciences Ltd (down 2.07%) moved lower.
Financials stocks were trading with losses, with the S&P BSE Finance index decreasing 235.04 points or 3.15% at 7220.35 at 13:49 IST. Among the components of the S&P BSE Finance index, Indiabulls Housing Finance Ltd (down 5.69%), Can Fin Homes Ltd (down 5.53%),Bajaj Finance Ltd (down 5.43%),Canara Bank (down 5.41%),IndusInd Bank Ltd (down 5.33%), were the top losers. Among the other losers were Tourism Finance Corporation of India Ltd (down 5.17%), IFCI Ltd (down 4.99%), Equitas Small Finance Bank Ltd (down 4.68%), Bajaj Finserv Ltd (down 4.56%), and State Bank of India (down 4.47%). On the other hand, Satin Creditcare Network Ltd (up 3.39%), Magma Fincorp Ltd (up 3.25%), and Religare Enterprises Ltd (up 2.63%) turned up.

NIIT Ltd rose 14.39% today to trade at Rs 189.15. The S&P BSE IT Sector index is up 0.54% to quote at 26914.08. The index is up 5.83 % over last one month. Among the other constituents of the index, Happiest Minds Technologies Ltd increased 5.92% and Tanla Platforms Ltd added 5% on the day. The S&P BSE IT Sector index went up 128.46 % over last one year compared to the 79.94% surge in benchmark SENSEX.
NIIT Ltd has lost 1.77% over last one month compared to 5.83% gain in S&P BSE IT Sector index and 1.51% drop in the SENSEX.
