ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) A majority of state Assembly members support beginning impeachment proceedings against Gov. Andrew Cuomo if he doesn’t resign over investigative findings that he sexually harassed at least 11 women, according to an Associated Press count Wednesday.
At least 82 of the body’s 150 members have said publicly or told The AP that they favored initiating the process of ousting the third-term Democratic governor if he doesn’t quit. A simple majority of Assembly members is needed to authorize an impeachment trial.

The bills are starting to move at the Rhode Island General Assembly. This year’s session is seeing a significant number of bills moving forward and avoiding the last minute, end of the session crunch of previous years.

PROVIDENCE, RI The General Assembly has passed legislation introduced by Majority Leader Michael J. McCaffrey (D-Dist. 29, Warwick) and House Speaker Pro Tempore Brian Patrick Kennedy (D-Dist. 38, Hopkinton, Westerly) that would rename the state airport Rhode Island T.F. Green International Airport.
Airport executives had promoted the name change as a way to boost awareness of Rhode Island s main airport to travelers and to reflect the changing complexion of the airport while continuing to honor the memory of Theodore Francis Green, proponents said in a news release. Green was the 57th governor of Rhode Island and a member of the U.S. Senate from 1937 to 1959.
