The Virginia Men’s Lacrosse team kicks off the 2021 season this afternoon as the Hoos host Towson at 4pm in a tilt that will be broadcast by the ACC Network. This is the 92nd season in program history, and it has been a long 335 days between games thanks to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. Virginia played just six games last season, going 4-2 overall.
Michael Kraus is the biggest loss for the Hoos coming into this season as the fourth year graduated and was drafted No. 2 overall in the 2020 MLL Draft. Kraus scored 14 goals and dished 12 assists last season and finished his career with 131 goals (No. 7 in UVA history), 109 assists (No. 6), and 240 points (tied-No. 4).

EL PASO, Texas Jerry Armstrong, a key member of Texas Western’s famed 1966 men’s basketball national championship team, passed away Thursday morning.
He was 76 years old.
Armstrong saw action in 24 games as a senior during the 1965-66 championship season.
He scored 45 points and grabbed 33 rebounds. Armstrong led the Miners at the free throw line, shooting 87.5 percent (21-24).
The 6-4 forward from Eagleville, Mo., lettered three seasons (1963-66). During his junior campaign, Armstrong shot 42.6 percent from the field and 72 percent from the foul line over 22 contests.

Among the Lakers’ retired jerseys is the no. 22 jersey which was worn by legendary player Elgin Baylor. He was drafted at a crucial time in the franchise’s history, back when they were the Minneapolis Lakers.
Baylor, also known as “Rabbit” for his speed and agility, became a small-college All-American at the College of Idaho, scoring 31.3 points per game. He then transferred to Seattle University, helping the then Chieftains reach the NIT quarterfinals in his first season.
