Thousands of devotees violated COVID-19 restrictions when they gathered in the city of Sanand in Gujarat, India, on Monday to pray for the end of the pandemic.
Video of the mass gathering of women offering water at the Navapura village in Sanand Taluka went viral on Wednesday, according to
RepublicWorld. The women marched as music played and gathered near the Baliyadev Temple, breaching social distancing guidelines and assembling without wearing face masks. The procession took place amid a local priest claiming the nation s ongoing second COVID-19 surge was because the gods are angry, which prompted locals to take spiritual action.

The police on Wednesday registered 1,105 more cases as part of the stringent enforcement activities against COVID-19 protocol violations in Kozhikode district. The majority of the cases (647) were registered against persons who defied the call to wear masks properly. Within the Kozhikode rural area alone, there were 385 such incidents.
Traders, who allegedly failed to implement the social distancing norms, were also booked on Wednesday. In Kozhikode district, there were 73 such incidents. Three persons, who violated the quarantine rules, were also charged under various sections of the Epidemic Diseases Act.
Both the City and Rural police on Wednesday warned that vehicles used for non-emergency purposes and casual trips would be impounded as part of the intensified enforcement action to fight off COVID-19. They also said many vehicles had already been impounded as part of the continuing surprise inspections.

Jaunpur : , May 2 (IANS) The Jaunpur police is initiating legal action against a person for allegedly helping provide free oxygen cylinders to patients who were unable to find beds at the district hospital.
The district medical department accused the youth of violating Covid-19 safety norms and has lodged a complaint with the police.
The man identified as Vicky, was reportedly helping the patients by arranging oxygen cylinders for them outside the district hospital.
