BERKSHIRE COUNTY, Mass. - The Berkshire Vaccine Collaborative is offering three walk-in clinics on two days this week.
Walk-in clinics will be held at three locations, including in Great Barrington on May 5 and North Adams and Pittsfield on May 6.
Walk-in clinic dates and locations:
Wednesday, 5/5 from 4 – 7pm (Pfizer) at W.E.B.DuBois Middle School in Great Barrington
Thursday, 5/6 from 12 – 5pm – (Pfizer) at St. Elizabeth of Hungary Parish Center in North Adams
Thursday, 5/6 from 4 – 7pm – (Pfizer) at Berkshire Community College in Pittsfield
The walk-in clinics are made possible thanks to a recent increase in vaccination doses across the Commonwealth.
According to the most recent data from the state, more than 50 percent of our residents have received at least one dose of the vaccine, and almost 40 percent are fully vaccinated, said Darlene Rodowicz, executive vice president of Berkshire Health Systems. We are excited to see this increase in vaccine supply, and we are optimistic that anyone and everyone who wants a vaccine will able to get one. According to a press release, the flow of vaccine has recently improved, and the Berkshire Vaccine Collaborative expects to have a plentiful supply going forward. To increase accessibility and reduce barriers created by the State s online registration system, the collaborative will now offer walk-in appointments at each of the three clinic locations on specific days, said Laura Kittross, manager, Berkshire County Boards of Health Association. We know that folks have been frustrated, but we encourage everyone to try again.
After months of limited shots, the Berkshires have hit a vaccine tipping point.
With increased supplies and signs that demand has begun to decline, county and state vaccine leaders have pivoted to the final phase of the vaccine rollout â getting a shot to everyone who might be willing to take one.
To get more doses into arms, the Berkshire Vaccine Collaborative has opened three walk-in clinics this week, one at each of the county s large-scale public sites.
The Great Barrington clinic will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, followed by vaccinations from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday in Pittsfield and noon to 5 p.m. Thursday in North Adams.
