Motorcyclist from Saturday s Fatal Crash Identified

Motorcyclist from Saturday’s Fatal Crash Identified The motorcyclist that lost his life when his motorcycle crashed into a guardrail in Pittsfield Saturday has been identified as 19-year-old Luiz Paulo of Pittsfield according The Berkshire Eagle. The Berkshire District Attorney s Office released the victim s name according to the report.  It is the belief of investigators that Paulo lost control of his Kawasaki 650 just after noon on Saturday hitting the guardrail on Government Avenue not far from Big Y.   No other vehicles were involved in the accident. In addition to the Pittsfield Police Department, Pittsfield Fire and County Ambulance also were dispatched to the scene of the accident.   Police continue to investigate and are asking for any witnesses to the accident to contact the department s Traffic Unit at 413-448-9700 extension 560.

19-Year-Old Killed in Pittsfield Motorcycle Accident Identified

The Berkshire District Attorney s Office identified the rider of the motorcycle as Luiz Paulo of Pittsfield. This past Saturday, April 24, 2021, Pittsfield Police responded to a single motorcycle crash that took the life of Paulo. Around 12:15  the Pittsfield Police Dept., Pittsfield Fire Dept. and County Ambulance responded to the area of Government Drive for a report of a single motorcycle crash with a serious injury. Paulo s 2017 Kawasaki EX650 operated by a City of Pittsfield resident (19 years of age), was traveling in a northbound direction on Government Ave, just north of 10 Francis Ave. Get our free mobile app Investigators from Pittsfield Police believe Paulo lost control of the motorcycle and crashed into the guardrail on the east side of the roadway. As a result of this incident, he was transported to BMC where he was pronounced deceased.

Read / Add Comments One person was killed in a crash involving a Freightliner tractor-trailer, a 2020 Toyota Camry, and a 2008 Toyota Sienna van in Western Massachusetts. At 3:22 p.m. Friday, April 23, troopers from the Massachusetts State Police Barracks in Lee responded to the crash on the eastbound side of the Massachusetts Turnpike in Becket.  Preliminary investigation by state police and the Berkshire District Attorney’s Office indicates that the tractor-trailer was eastbound approaching Mile Marker 15 when traffic in front of the truck began to slow because of traffic. Evidence suggests the truck struck the rear of the Camry and pushed that car into the Sienna, state police said.
