Two trailer homes were destroyed and a woman received burns in a fire Friday at a trailer park north of Belleville.
It happened at about 7 a.m. at the park on Carleton Cove Road east of Highway 62, reported Dave MacMullen, a fire prevention officer with the city’s volunteer fire crews.

Volunteer firefighters responding to a report of black smoke found two trailers engulfed in flames, he added.
A woman in one of the trailers sustained “minor second-degree burns” and was treated at Belleville General Hospital and released, MacMullen wrote in a news release.

A Belleville man will be sentenced June 3 after pleading guilty to charges stemming from a bizarre incident in July.
The man, whose name is protected by a publication ban, pleaded guilty April 15 in Belleville’s Ontario Court of Justice to charges of mischief to property and failing to disclose a death in a home. The latter is a charge laid under Ontario’s Coroners act.
