But the police commissioner Gari Baki intervened, saying the likelihood of some form of unrest happening was 99.9 percent, and that a public park was not the place to discuss sensitive issues of national importance.

SPC Hosts Pacific Energy Advisory Group Meeting Submitted by piradmin on Wed, 12/11/2013 - 00:00 Pacific Islands Development Program, East-West Center With Support From Center for Pacific Islands Studies, University of Hawai‘i News Release Monday, December 9, 2013 The Pacific Energy Advisory Group (PEAG) met in Suva 3–4 December to discuss the implementation of the Framework for Action on Energy Security in the Pacific (FAESP) 2010–2020, the development of new regional projects, and preparations for the officials and ministers meeting in April 2014. The meeting, hosted by the Secretariat of the Pacific Community (SPC) at its Suva office, brought together regional experts from the Pacific energy sector, including representatives of Pacific Island countries (PICs) governments and administrations, development partners, representative of the private sector and regional agencies.
