E3 is back with a reimagined, all-virtual 2021 event. The Entertainment Software Association (ESA) on Tuesday announced the dates of the upcoming video game industry event.
E3 2021 will take place June 12 through June 15. Confirmed participates thus far are Nintendo, Xbox, Capcom, Konami, Ubisoft, Take-Two Interactive, Warner Bros. Games and Koch Media, with more expected to be announced in the future.
Developers will be showcasing games and products directly to fans, as the ESA will be working with media partners globally to amplify and make content available to everyone for free. After skipping last year due to the pandemic, E3 will officially return in 2021 with a free online show running June 12-15th. The organisers say to expect participants including Microsoft, Ubisoft, Take-Two, and Nintendo. E3 is the biggest marketing event on the games industry s calendar but last year its organisers didn t arrange an online replacement after the pandemic ruled out an in-person show, leading to a weeks-long sprawl of unaffiliated alternatives from publishers and the media. I never thought I d say it but: I missed E3. Please save us from the endless NotE3.
Today s announcement says yep, live press conferences are back with the four-day stream. San Francisco, April 6 : The Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) 2021 will take place from June 12-15 as a free, reimagined, all-virtual event, the Entertainment Software Association (ESA) said on Tuesday.
Companies such as Nintendo, Xbox, Capcom, Konami, Ubisoft, Take-Two Interactive and Warner Bros. Games are among those who have made early commitments.
The event will allow developers to showcase their latest news and games directly to fans around the world. For more than two decades, E3 has been the premier venue to showcase the best that the video game industry has to offer, while uniting the world through games, Stanley Pierre-Louis, President and CEO of the ESA, said in a statement.
E3 2021 Will Be All Virtual, Coming In June
The ESA has announced its plans for a reimagined, all-virtual showcase this summer.
Following its tease last week, the Entertainment Software Association has now officially announced plans for what it’s calling a reimagined and all-virtual E3 2021.
A number of the biggest names in gaming have already signed up to support the show in some capacity, including Nintendo, Xbox, Capcom, Konami, Ubisoft, Take-Two, Warner Bros., and Koch Media. The ESA said more companies will join later. It remains to be seen, however, if PlayStation and EA will join the ranks; they haven’t attended E3 in an official capacity in years.
