According to the study, carried out by the NPD market research group, 58 per cent of adult gamers and 80 per cent of teen gamers reported playing more video games during the pandemic, with two thirds to three quarters saying that it helped them to feel better and stay connected with family and friends. Although the ESAC study relates specifically video games, Christian Lemaire of Le Griffon gaming store in downtown Sherbrooke said that 2020 has also proven to be a banner year for the sales of board games and tabletop role-playing games like Dungeons and Dragons.
