24-year-old woman driving 9 juveniles dies following crash in Northeast Bakersfield 23ABC NEWS and last updated 2021-01-16 22:38:36-05 BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — A 24-year-old woman has died following a crash in Northeast Bakersfield shortly after 4 p.m. Saturday. According to a California Highway Patrol press release, the woman was driving a Ford Expedition at a high rate of speed with 9 minors in the vehicle, when she lost control, causing the SUV to rollover multiple times along Alfred Harrel Highway near Fairfax Road. CHP officer Robert Rodriguez told 23ABC News that the woman died on scene. All of the minors were transported to Kern Medical for medical evaluations. A 5-month-old newborn, one 4-year-old boy, two 5-year-old boys and a 6 year-old girl sustained minor injuries.
