The Wolverines’ bats were shut down by Washington ace Gabbie Plain, who was the losing pitcher for the Huskies in Michigan’s 2-1 victory on Saturday night. Plain, from Australia and the 2021 Pac-12 Pitcher of the year, allowed just two hits both by Big Ten Player of the Year Lexie Blair  over seven innings, with three walks and eight strikeouts. Sunday s win was Plain s 31st of the season. Washington’s second run scored on a one-out double by Jadelyn Allchin, as Sarah Willis appeared to be tagged out at home by Michigan catcher Hannah Carson. But the referee ruled that Carson had obstructed Willis and awarded the run. Beaubien then finished the inning with a sac bunt by Sis Bates and a groundout by Baylee Klingler.
