269 People Register Damages From December Flooding

The province says a total of 269 New Brunswickers registered flood damage by the deadline on Jan. 15. Figures show just over 200 of those applications came from Sussex and Sussex Corner, which were hit hardest by the storm. It is estimated more than 200 millimetres of rain fell between in parts of the province between Nov. 30 and Dec. 2.

New Brunswick Emergency Measures Organization says those impacted by the storm have until Jan. 15 to report any damage. NBEMO said nearly 250 New Brunswickers have registered damage to date, but registrations have dwindled over the past two weeks. It is estimated more than 200 millimetres of rain fell between Nov. 30 and Dec. 2, with much of the damage being reported in the Sussex area.
