CHARLOTTESVILLE (WINA) – While the University of Virginia has relaxed restrictions imposed during the student COVID surge, University Greek life organizations say they’re suspending in-person events until at least the end of this month. A message on the Inter-Fraternity Council’s website says they decided in January to lift the in-person event ban because of widespread compliance with restrictions during the fall semester. However, the message says “since then, there have been multiple incidents of blatant noncompliance and disrespect for the less restrictive rules”.
They say the Governing Board is looking at ways “to increase peer accountability and hold chapters accountable for their actions”.
