BEND, Ore. (KTVZ) Some recreation trails and roads in the Phil’s Trail area west of Bend reopened Friday following a temporary closure due to logging activity in the area.
With the Deschutes National Forest implementing an Industrial Fire Precaution Level IV, all commercial timber operations are on hold, which allows these trails and roads to open.
The road and trail closures that are now open include:
· Forest Service Road (FSR) 4601-310 and 320 and 322
· Lower Whoops Trail
· EXT Trail
· Storm King Trail – The northwest portion of the trail where it junctions with FSR 4615 and the junction with Phil’s Trail
OPEN from Friday at 3 p.m. to Monday at 12 a.m. and federal holidays.

closed to all motorized uses 7 days a week)

Storm King Trail – The northwest portion of the trail where it junctions with FSR 4615 and the junction with Phil’s Trail
Phil’s Trail - The western-most portion; between the junction with EXT trail (near FSR 300) and its western terminus at the junction with Pine Drops, Upper and Lower Whoops, and Skyliners trails.
Please note that FSR 4601-310 and 320 and 322 are
CLOSED 7 days a week to
motorized use due to road conditions not being suitable for vehicle traffic until all reconstruction is completed.

Trail Closures to Begin for Public Safety Trail closures west of Bend to allow for timber sale harvest and restoration work
Bend, Ore.- Beginning this Thursday, several trails on the Deschutes National Forest will be fully closed for the safety of forest users and for the safety of the timber operators doing timber harvesting and forest restoration work in the Euro Stewardship contract area.
The trails within the Euro Stewardship contract area will be closed to all visitors, including all trail users. . Euro Stewardship contract area is located just west of Bend, OR and is part of the West Bend Project and is located within the Collaborative Forest Landscape Restoration boundary.
