The Pine River Area Food Shelf received numerous donations from businesses and private donors in our community. If you sent a check for any amount, we thank you. If you put change in one of our numerous jars in the community, we thank you. Pequot Tool & Manufacturing sent a generous donation of $7,500 as did the Backus American Legion. The Crow Wing Power Community Trust Board donated $3,000 and the Ideal Community Service Organization sent a generous check for $1,000.

A schedule of events for the Pine River-Backus Family Center in April of 2021 Written By: PineandLakes Echo Journal | 6:00 am, Apr. 5, 2021 × The Pine River-Backus Family Center is open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday-Thursday and 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday. Following is a list of April events. Pine River Area Food Shelf: 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesdays and Fridays, and 3:30-6 p.m. on the second Tuesday of the month (April 13). Pine River-Backus CommUnity Meals: Free weekly meals for anyone who is hungry are served from 4 p.m. until gone Mondays at Riverview Church in Pine River and Tuesdays at the Backus Pine Mountaineer Senior Center.
