Kentucky State Police Charge Boyd County Man With Child Sexual Exploitation Offenses – kentuckystatepolice org

   The Kentucky State Police (KSP) Electronic Crime Branch arrested Jonathan M. Whitt, 33, on charges related to child sexual abuse material. Mr. Whitt was arrested as the result of an undercover Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) investigation. The KSP Electronic Crime Branch began the investigation after discovering the suspect uploading images of child sexual exploitation online. The investigation resulted in the execution of a search warrant at a residence in Ashland on June 3, 2021. Equipment used to facilitate the crime was seized and taken to KSP’s digital forensic laboratory for examination. The investigation is ongoing. Mr. Whitt is currently charged with one count of possession of matter portraying a sexual performance by a minor, a class D felony and one count of distribution of matter portraying a sexual performance by a minor. Mr. Whitt was lodged in the Boyd County Detention Center.

Man charged in burglary

ASHLAND A South Point man was charged early Monday morning after police said he kicked in a door and entered a home. A criminal citation shows 28-year-old David E. Ward Jr. kicked in the back door to a home in the 500 block of Pollard Road. Following the break-in, which happened around midnight on Sunday, Ashland Police located and took Ward into custody, records show. Ward has been charged with second-degree burglary and is being held at the Boyd County Detention on a $10,000 bond. (606) 326-2653 |

Police: Man breaks into house, beats and bites occupant

A Catlettsburg suspect has been arrested for a break-in and bloody assault. Court records show 35-year-old James Stephens broke into a house in the 8000 block of State Route 168 early Thursday and fought a man inside. When Catlettsburg Police arrived, they found the victim with several cuts on his head and face, with his left eye swollen shut, records show. The criminal citation also states the victim had several bite marks, bruises and blood on his body. Stephens also threw several bricks and busted out the windshield of the victim’s car, records show. Police noted the victim passed out, woke up and almost wrecked prior to being taken to St. Mary s Medical Center.
