Here s how Valentino Ambrosio seized the Rutgers kicking job and why it s his job to lose in spring camp

Here’s how Valentino Ambrosio seized the Rutgers kicking job and why it’s his job to lose in spring camp Updated Mar 05, 2021; One of the most pleasant surprises to emerge during the Rutgers football season last fall won’t be sneaking up on anyone this spring. Valentino Ambrosio will be the No. 1 placekicker when the Scarlet Knights begin spring camp later this month, according to special teams coordinator Adam Scheier. “He’ll be the kicker on Day 1 of spring ball,’ Scheier said. “But it is a very fluid situation.’ It means Ambrosio has a leg up on a competition that will include Guy Fava this spring and will eventually include Michael O’Connor, a Red Bank Catholic product who will join the squad for preseason camp in August.
