New deals to hire domestic workers - ARAB TIMES

Messenger KUWAIT CITY, May 9: State authorities, headed by the Public Authority for Manpower (PAM), are planning to sign new agreements to recruit domestic workers, reports Al-Qabas daily quoting reliable sources. They revealed that work is currently underway to sign a labor agreement with Ethiopia, after PAM finalized the required amendments and recommendations, and submitted the final version to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for approval. Owners of some domestic labor recruitment offices explained that, after resuming the recruitment of Filipino domestic workers, the issue of fees allocated in the “Bil Salamah” platform for facilitating the return of domestic workers (under article 20 visa) to the State of Kuwait became a cause for problems between citizens and domestic labor recruitment offices.

COVID-19: Kuwait approves transfer of work permits after one year instead of three

Kuwait City: The Director General of the Public Authority for Manpower (PAM), Ahmed Al Mousa, issued a decision to allow workers to transfer their work permits after one year instead of three years, local media reported. Al Mousa said in a statement the decision to transfer workers’ permits are permitted to employers that are listed in the Labour Department and is contingent on the worker completing one year since the date his work permit was issued. The employer must approve the transfer of the work permit. The decision comes as Kuwait’s labour market is struggling due to the COVID-19 pandemic and with an aim of facilitating easier movement for employees and employers.

Transfer of residence after 1 yr of work instead of 3 yrs - ARAB TIMES

Messenger KUWAIT CITY, May 5: The Director General of the Public Authority for Manpower, Ahmed Al-Mousa, issued a circular no. (375) for the year 2021 regarding transfer of work visa for workers brought in with work permits by the employers. Ahmed Al-Mousa Al-Mousa said in a press statement that according to this decision, the work permits can be transferred after one year of service from the date of issuance of work permit instead of three years which is subject to approval from sponsor of the employer, the conditions and regulations set by PAM in this regard has to be followed, reports Al Anba. This decision has been made to meet the requirements of the labor market during this period of pandemic and will stay until further notice.
