Accordingly, the general public can contact the Medical Officer of Health or the Public Health Inspector attached to the closest Vaccination Center to obtain the vaccine without any issue. On Wednesday (12), the Sri Lankan government imposed an island-wide travel restriction with effect from 11:00 PM on Thursday (13) to the 17th of May, adding it will not apply to those who wish to obtain the vaccine against the coronavirus.

Share: COLOMBO (News 1st): The special vaccination drive to administer the Sinopharm COVID-19 vaccine manufactured in China to residents of the Western Province, will begin today (May 11) with the support of the Tri-Forces. Plans are in place to administer the first jab of the Sinopharm vaccine to 30,000 people daily, Dr. Sudharshani Fernandopulle, the State Minister of Primary Health Care, Epidemics and COVID Disease Control told News 1st on Tuesday (May 11). Those aged between 30 to 60 years can receive the vaccine, she noted. “The highest number of COVID-19 cases in the country are reported from the Colombo, Gampaha, and Kalutara districts; thereby, the Sinopharm vaccine will be administered at vaccination centres in the Western province. Moreover, the vaccine will also be administered through the main hospitals in the Western province such as the Colombo General Hospital,” Dr. Fernandopulle elaborated.

BOI enterprises in isolated areas to continue operations: DGHS

Share: COLOMBO (News 1st): A decision has been reached to allow enterprises under the purview of the Board of Investment (BOI), located in areas that are isolated to continue operations considering the economic significance, the Ministry of Health said in a statement released on Friday (May 07). However, the following measures should be strictly adhered to when continuing operations: 01. The enterprises located in areas under lockdown can operate with employees residing in non-lockdown areas excluding the categories mentioned below, – Employees with symptoms suspicious of COVID-19 – Close contacts (1st line of contacts) who are undergoing home quarantine – Employees from quarantine mandated households even though the employee is not a close contact (1st line of contacts)

Airline passengers to SL to be limited to 75 per flight

Sunday, 02 May 2021 - 11:29 Due to the Covid-19 situation all airlines have been informed to limit their passengers to Sri Lanka to 75 per aircraft (including crew members) for a period of two weeks from tomorrow (03) according to Chairman, Civil Aviation Authority. Meanwhile Srilankan Airlines have provided a list of guidelines for passengers travelling into Sri Lanka (issued on 26th April) The entry procedure for foreigners during the pandemic of COVID-19 General measures to travel into Sri Lanka A.1 Approvals to enter into the country. A.1.1 If Sri Lankan Citizens (including Sri Lankan Seafarers arriving by air) or Dual Citizens (if using the Sri Lankan passport to arrive) staying in a designated Quarantine Hotel after arriving in Sri Lanka, they do not need to get the prior approval from the Foreign Ministry and Civil Aviation Authority of Sri Lanka to arrive in Sri Lanka. They have to liaise with the airline and arrive in Sri Lanka after booking the Quarantine Hotel.
