The “Happiest Place on Earth” is set to reopen Friday for the first time in more than a year, and the employees who run the park couldn’t be more thrilled to return. Yes, the paychecks will be a welcome sight for people who have been getting by on unemployment and side hustles, but my colleague Hugo Martín reports that the thing staff members are looking forward to most is seeing park patrons even if their smiles are hidden behind masks.

Los Angeles County is relaxing its mask-wearing order to allow fully vaccinated people to stop wearing masks outdoors in uncrowded situations, echoing new guidance from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
“Vaccinated people are safe to do outdoor activities like dining outdoors with friends from multiple households [and] attending small outdoor gatherings with fully vaccinated and unvaccinated people … without your mask on,” L.A. County Public Health Director Barbara Ferrer said Thursday.
Fully vaccinated people also do not need to wear masks in uncrowded situations where they are walking past another person on the street, Ferrer said.

The mass vaccination site at Dodger Stadium will wind down operations by the end of May, the city announced Friday.
The city will be opening appointment-free options, transferring more doses to walk-up center and mobile clinics in a shake-up for LA’s city-run vaccination program during a broader slowdown in demand in the county. The number of city-offered vaccination appointment will not change, but officials said the supply of doses will be increased at locations across the city, such as USC and mobile clinics. The city also plans to open a pilot program clinic at a mobile site in South Los Angeles that will be open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.
