PESHAWAR: E-bidding and tendering system has been introduced in the Public Health Engineering Department while such Work Order system will be introduced to ensure efficiency and transparency in all the official matters of the department.
This was told in a meeting of Public Health Engineering Department, chaired by Chief Minister Mahmood Khan to review the reform initiatives taken by the department, said an official handout.
The forum was told that a total of 154 developmental schemes were being executed throughout the province. As many as 17 schemes out of total 69 due for completion schemes have been completed, adding the master plan has been prepared for the settled areas whereas the master plan for merged areas was in progress.
LDA to apprise court of housing regularisation
LDA Director General (DG) Ahmad Aziz along with others had appeared before the court.

Lahore High Court (LHC) Chief Justice (CJ) Muhammad Qasim Khan on Monday sought an explanation from Lahore Development Authority (LDA) in connection with non-regularisation of a private housing scheme.
The LHC CJ passed the orders while hearing a petition filed by Muhammad Khan against non-regularisation of the housing scheme by the LDA.
A counsel for the LDA told the court that a committee had been constituted for regularization and its meeting was scheduled on May 5.
The counsel further stated that the committee included representatives of the P&D Department, Public Health Engineering Department and others.
Buzdar dissatisfied with quality, standard of uplift projects

LAHORE: Chief Minister Usman Buzdar presided over a meeting to review progress on different development projects of the Public Health Engineering Department at CM’s Office here on Saturday and expressed dissatisfaction over quality, standard and delay in development projects.
Usman Buzdar has taken notice of embezzlement in streetlights project in Taunsa and directed an inquiry and sought a report within 10 days.
He also directed for arresting the contractor concerned involved in this scam.
He directed for restoring water supply scheme in Fort Monroe on an emergent basis and said that underground tanks should be constructed in remote areas to store water. The chief minister directed for taking all possible steps for water supply in Koh-e-Sulaiman and other hilly areas besides timely completion of streetlights, tuff tiles, water supply and other projects in Taunsa.
