Pause comes after federal recommendation about Johnson & Johnson single-dose vaccine

GARDNER The city’s plan to begin delivering COVID-19 vaccines to residents in their homes has been put on hold for the time being.
City officials announced on April 13 the date the Homebound Vaccination Delivery Program was scheduled to begin that the service was being placed on hold after federal health authorities recommended that clinics temporarily halt distribution of the Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 vaccine until an investigation into very rare potential blood clots associated with the vaccine is completed. The city’s home delivery program had intended to utilize the Johnson & Johnson single-dose vaccine.
