The area to be covered by Wirral Safer Streets initiative ALLEYGATES, CCTV cameras and new streetlights have been installed in North Birkenhead in a project aimed at tackling crime in the area. Launched in October , the Safer Streets crime reduction programme was set up to improve safety and security after consultation with local residents showed there were concerns about anti-social behaviour. A partnership of Wirral Council, Merseyside Police, the Police & Crime Commissioner and North Birkenhead Development Trust successfully bid to the Home Office for funds that were used to reduce neighbourhood crime - offences that blight communities and cause misery to victims.

Two people have been fined £75 for urinating in public in North Somerset - as part of a crackdown on anti social behaviour.
North Somerset Council reviewed its Public Space Protection Orders (PSPOs) earlier this year, strengthening some and adding new ones.
Fire engines at Marsden Moor where a major blaze has raged since Sunday Ahead of the Bank Holiday weekend, West Yorkshire residents and landowners are being warned of the risk of wildfires on local moorlands and how they can be prevented. Calderdale Council continues to work with partners at West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service and West Yorkshire Police to enforce Public Space Protection Orders (PSPO) in areas of the countryside to prevent fires, said the council’s Assistant Director for Neighbourhoods, Andrew Pitts. These orders prohibit the lighting of fires, barbecues, sky lanterns or anything that causes a fire risk and failure to comply is a criminal offence.
