ADK Connect has collaborated with the Ministry of Communications and Information to launch a new film titled ‘Call Me Steady’, aimed at spreading laughter and nostalgia this Lunar New Year.
Created by ADK Connect and directed by renowned Singaporean filmmaker, Royston Tan. The film also features a power-packed cast with Goh Guat Kian, winner of Best Actress at The Straits Times Life Theatre Awards 2019, playing the lead character, ‘Aunty Steady’ and Huang Qing Yuan, a Singaporean singing from the 60’s, assuming the role of himself, as well as Aunty Steady’s husband.
Set in midst of last year’s nationwide circuit breaker, the story follows ‘Aunty Steady’ as her kaypoh character takes the audiences through her daily interactions with her neighbours. The Federal Government, has concluded plans to evacuate another set of 420 Nigerians from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
An official of the Crises Monitoring and Public Communications Division, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, disclosed the planned evacuation to newsmen in Abuja.
The 420 Nigerians, the third batch to be returned to the country in a space of one week, are expected to arrive the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, at 10:30am today (Wednesday) from Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
Recall that 802 Nigerians were received between Wednesday and Friday last week from Saudi Arabia by the Federal Government.
The deportees said to be illegal migrants, have been held in detention camps in Saudi Arabia while awaiting deportation to the country.
Mr Lui suggested that portable or handheld speed-detecting cameras be set up to complement existing cameras in road tunnels.
Speed enforcement cameras are deployed at fixed locations within the tunnels and intentionally painted with bright orange stripes to alert motorists to their presence.
This deters motorists from speeding in accident-prone areas. It is not feasible to deploy officers for speed enforcement operations within tunnels using portable or handheld speed-detecting cameras due to safety concerns.
The Traffic Police have introduced the Average Speed Camera (ASC) system to address the problem of motorists who speed up after passing a fixed speed enforcement camera.
