YOUNGSTOWN A cash sale has been announced for a library in Youngstown.
Surplus items from the Public Library of Youngstown and Mahoning County will be for sale 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. May 17, 18 and 19 at the Newport Library, 3730 Market St.
The sale will be at the rear of the library. Proceeds will benefit the Summer Discovery program.
Items for sale will include office chairs, metal cabinets with drawers, metal and wood desks, shelving, drop-in lights, computer tables, wood and laminate tables, books and more.
No deliveries will be made, and customers should be prepared to take items they purchase with them. Items must also be removed the days of the sale.

LORDSTOWN Ultium Cells, the joint venture in Lordstown between General Motors and LG Energy Solution to make electric vehicle battery cells, will participate in a virtual career fair 1 to 7 p.m. April 28.
The event, in connection with Youngstown State University, will connect potential employees with plant leadership, hiring managers and employees during the live portion.
The focus for Ultium will be on positions available in production.

HOME TESTING TO BE OFFERED: The Public Library of Youngstown and Mahoning County branches are pickup locations for free COVID-19 home testing kits from Mahoning County Public Health.
The county has provided 1,900 kits, which come with detailed instruction sheets. They will be distributed through the main library, all open branches and the Pop-Up Library. Patrons must call 330-744-8636 to reserve a kit, which then will be available for curbside pick-up.
