Dog rescued near Holbrook after surviving car crash, 19 days lost in wilderness

HOLBROOK, Ariz. Nushka, a 5-year-old female Belgian Malinois, and her owner John Bemies were involved in a single-car crash on State Route 377 on Jan. 11. Unfortunately, John did not survive the crash and she ran away from the scene.
“They were just something else. I’d never seen them apart. Hardly ever,” said John s son Trey Bemies.

Two people were killed and another transported to the hospital after a wreck Sunday morning west of Graford.
On Jan. 24, 2021 at approximately 11:25 a.m., Texas Department of Public Safety Troopers investigated a two vehicle fatality crash on State Highway 16 approximately 10 miles west of Graford, DPS Sgt. Richard Hunter said. Preliminary investigation indicates a 2006 Toyota Corolla was traveling south on SH 16 and for an undetermined reason, the Toyota left the west side of the road, he said. The driver, Edward P. Worth, 49, overcorrected causing the Toyota to skid sideways into the northbound lane of travel. The Toyota was then struck by a northbound 2007 Chevrolet pickup.

At the start of the session on Tuesday, Jan. 12, state leaders returned to Austin to tackle the 140-day schedule. Multi-state police chase ends with man behind bars
HARRISON COUNTY, Texas (KTBS) A man who led Harrison County deputies on a multi-state chase that shutdown Interstate 20 early Monday is behind bars.
Deputies received a call around 11:55 p.m. Sunday on reports of Caddo Parish deputies were chasing Wesley Pearson, 35, of Shreveport, for a stolen vehicle on I-20 when he crossed into Texas.
Harrison County Deputies, along with the Texas Department of Public Safety Troopers quickly responded to the area of I-20, and attempted to locate the stolen vehicle. Texas troopers were able to deploy spikes on the interstate, which brought the vehicle to a stop near Exit 603.
