U.S. mission opens Window on America in Uyo The Window on America is a facility that hosts a variety of events designed to bring Americans and Nigerians together. ADVERTISEMENT The United States mission in Nigeria on Wednesday opened a centre called Window on America in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State. A statement issued by the mission in Lagos said the centre was opened in partnership with the University of Uyo, Akwa Ibom State. The Window on America is a facility that hosts a variety of events designed to bring Americans and Nigerians together. The opening of the facility in Uyo comes a few weeks after the first ‘Window’ hosted at the ‘Slum2School Innovation Hub’ in Lekki, Lagos was commissioned.

A statement signed and issued to the media in Bolgatanga last Friday by the Public Affairs Officer of the Regional Police Command, Assistant Superintendent of Police Mr. David Fianko-Okyere, stated that DCOP Dr Gariba, until his new position, was the Director in charge of Police Operations at the Ghana Police Service Headquarters in Accra.

The Camino Community Center, a local nonprofit helping serve low-income Latino families recently conducted a study showing the impact of COVID-19 on the Mecklenburg County Latino Immigrant Community. Since the virus can reach every community, so must the message to stop it.  They were having issues communicating their symptoms and their questions because they were only offered in the English language, said Dr. Carla Fallas of the Camino Clinic.

U S Forest Service Announces Local Projects Funded Through Great American Outdoors Act

9 & 10 News March 12, 2021 The Forest Service received $285 million thanks to the recently passed Great American Outdoors Act. Some of that money will go towards replacing bridges on the North Country Scenic Trail and improving access and parking at local wild and scenic rivers. They’re improvements the forest service says are much needed. “It’s going to improve their access, it’s going to make for a better bridge to cross safer, it’s going to enable more people to utilize our resources and it’s going to enable them to experience their national forests and to catch up on our critical infrastructure,” said Joshua Veal, Public Affairs Officer, with the Huron-Manistee National Forests.
