Tree Summit 2021: Water And A Healthy Urban Forest
Today, LA s City Forest Officer, Rachel Malarich, Councilmembers, a Public Works Commissioner, Streets LA executives and staff, and tree experts met online to examine the relationship between water and LA s urban forest. Mayor Eric Garcetti provided recorded opening remarks reaffirming that shade is an equity issue and highlighting how trees are the centerpiece of our vision for a green and just Los Angeles. Trees breathe new life into our communities ― bringing cooler temperatures, cleaning our air, and making our neighborhoods more beautiful places to lay down roots and raise a family,” said Mayor Eric Garcetti. Jeremiah Corbin, Robert Thill and Kelly Dybdahl are the candidates appearing on the ballot in the April 13 city commission election.
Their responses are published this week in the order the candidates appear on the ballot.
According to Thill, who is a lifelong Madison resident, the city is a great place to live, work and raise a family. He and his wife Mary have raised three children Kristin, Nathan and Amy and also have five grandchildren. Thill is retired and was previously employed for 40 years with the Madison Public Works Department. He retired as a department foreman.

Apparently, the number of butt wipes that are being flushed down Michigan toilets is really becoming a big problem for sewer systems. These costly problems are especially bad in Macomb and Oakland County.
Macomb County’s Public Works Commissioner is trying to educate the public about the problem and what it s doing to Michigan s sewer system.
