Jersey City Ward E Councilman James Solomon and Ward A Councilwoman Denise Ridley will introduce an ordinance next week creating a Civilian Complaint Review Board to investigate complaints of police misconduct.
The ordinance, which is expected to be introduced at the Feb. 24 City Council meeting, calls for a CCRB to be created with investigatory and subpoena powers, as well as a voice in how police officers are disciplined. The creation of the 11-member board, however, is contingent of state legislation proceeding in Trenton.
