Ammon man charged after alleged gun threat

AMMON, Idaho (KIFI/KIDK)-An Ammon man was arrested shortly after 10 p.m. Friday night after witnesses said he pointed a gun at a group of people.
The Bonneville County Sheriff’s Office were called to the 1400 South block of Falcon Drive. Deputies were told that Joseph D. Vasquez, 37, had approached people who were moving items out of an apartment. During a verbal argument, they said Vazquez pulled a handgun from his waistband and threatened to shoot one of the people in the group.
Vazquez eventually went back into an apartment where deputies found him.

For the past 25 years, the Bonneville County Sheriff’s Office, Idaho Falls Police Department, and Idaho State Probation and Parole have come together to help kids who have been exposed to abusive situations.
IDAHO FALLS â A local man was arrested after his DNA was found to match samples collected as part of a rape kit from an incident in April.
According to the probable cause affidavit, Clay Heline, 27, of Idaho Falls, was driving the 14-year-old victim after her mother was hospitalized. Court records state Heline appeared to get his car stuck in snow.
The victim told her mother she fell asleep and that she woke up with her clothes removed.

The victim did not want to be forensically interviewed as part of the investigation, according to court records. She told her mother she had been raped, and her mother contacted law enforcement.

Shop-With-A-Cop event brings Christmas to 21 families

IDAHO FALLS, Idaho (PRESS RELEASE) - On Saturday morning, law enforcement officers from the Bonneville County Sheriff’s Office, Idaho Falls Police Department, and Idaho State Probation and Parole teamed up to make special Christmas deliveries to 21 Shop-With-A-Cop kids in Bonneville County.
For the past 25 years, local law enforcement have teamed up with kids who have been exposed to abusive situations to help them shop for their families for Christmas. Typically the event starts with breakfast and a parade of police cars across town with the kids in charge of the radio, lights and sirens, followed by the shopping and a visit from Santa.
