As the Kansas City Chiefs and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers prepare to square off in Tampa, FL for Super Bowl 55, Missouri State Treasurer Scott Fitzpatrick and Florida Chief Financial Officer Jimmy Patronis made a friendly wager between the two state financial officers. If the Kansas City Chiefs win, CFO Patronis will send Missouri a sample of fresh Florida gulf grouper. If the Tampa Bay Buccaneers win, Treasurer Fitzpatrick will send Florida a care package of Kansas City’s famous Jack Stack BBQ.

Missouri State Treasurer Scott Fitzpatrick announced the launch of READYSAVE 529, a new education savings mobile application for MOST 529 account owners.
In the initial release, READYSAVE 529 users can view their account balance, transaction history and investment allocations. Additional features include the option to make a one-time contribution or set up recurring transactions, as well as the option to see how savings stack up versus peers in the same plan. The app is available for download in the Apple and Google Play app stores.
MOST, Missouri’s 529 Education Plan, is a tax-advantaged savings plan for education expenses. Money in MOST accounts can be used to pay for K-12 tuition, and trade, college, and graduate school tuition and expenses. Contributions are eligible for state tax deductions, which can save families up to $864 a year, and assets in MOST 529 accounts grow tax free.

Monday’s inauguration in Jefferson City kicks off celebration of 200 years of Missouri history
About 2,000 people are expected to attend Monday’s inauguration ceremonies at the Missouri Capitol in Jefferson City. The festivities will help kick off the historic celebration of 200 years of Missouri history.

State Rep. Ron Hicks, R-Defiance, plans to bring his children to the 2021 Bicentennial inauguration ceremony.
“That’s one of the exciting things about being a part of this, not just for myself but my family. I have two young boys and for them to be parts of history and things and then learn about it, this is just an amazing experience,” Hicks says.

Missouri State Treasurer Scott Fitzpatrick has announced that he has been named Legislative Chair for the National Association of State Treasurers (NAST).
As legislative chair, he will serve on the Executive Committee.
As Treasurer, advocating to our federal delegation for sound fiscal policy, growing programs that help all Missourians save for the future and expanding access to unclaimed property is a priority, Fitzpatrick said. I am pleased to take a leadership role in this endeavor and look forward to working with my fellow Treasurers to continue protecting state finances as well as expanding financial opportunity for all.
