China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) Authority Chairman Lt Gen (r) Asim Saleem Bajwa resigned from his post on Tuesday.
“I bow my head before Allah Almighty for giving me an opportunity to raise and steer the important institution of CPEC Authority as one window for all CPEC projects, charting the future direction,” he said in a tweet.
Following Bajwa’s resignation, Prime Minister Imran Khan approved the appointment of Khalid Mansoor as special assistant for CPEC affairs.
Bajwa said he wishes the best for Khalid Mansoor. He said Mansoor is fully equipped to take CPEC forward. “CPEC is a lifeline for Pakistan; it will transform us into a progressive and fully developed country,” he said, as he thanked the government and Prime Minister Imran Khan for their support.
Prime Minister Imran Khan has appointed Khalid Mansoor as his Special Assistant on CPEC Affairs.
Asim Bajwa took to the twitter and wrote, “I bow my head before Allah Almighty for giving me an opportunity to raise & steer the important institution of CPEC Authority as one window for all CPEC projects, charting the future direction. Wouldn’t have been possible without full confidence & support of the PM and his government.
“The course is set for future progression of CPEC, this journey will go on. My best wishes to Kahlid Mansoor sb, who is fully equipped to take it forward. CPEC is life line for Pakistan, it will transform us into a progressive and fully developed country InshaAllah.”

Adviser to the Prime Minister on Political Communication Shahbaz Gill on Sunday said the three secret meetings of former premier Nawaz Sharif with enemies of the country in a week have exposed his real face. Taking to Twitter, he said Sharif’s meeting with Afghan National Security Adviser (NSA) Hamdullah Mohib was planned off-camera as an Indian personality was also present in the first part of the meeting. After the departure of the Indian personality, some pictures were taken as Hamdullah was eager to get these pictures published, he said, adding that through these pictures, Sharif stands exposed. After this episode, Gill said, no one would vote for Nawaz Sharif in Kashmir or in any part of Pakistan, adding that the former premier was trying to get an NRO. “The most secret of these three meetings took place with an Indian government official at a restaurant near the Chelsea area of London,” Gill claimed.

Two employees working for Therapy Works also arrested.
ISLAMABAD: The parents of Zahir Jaffer, the suspect in the murder of former diplomat Shaukat Mukadam s daughter, Noor Mukadam, have been arrested, police said, while the court has approved a two-day physical remand for both.
Meanwhile, orders to seal Therapy Works, the drug rehabilitation centre where Jaffer is believed to have sought treatment, have also been issued.
