Petterino’s, which has been closed for the duration of the pandemic, is set to reopen later this year under new ownership.
The iconic restaurant at the corner of Randolph and Dearborn streets has been a mainstay for Loop theater crowds and downtown lunch schmoozers. Lettuce Entertain You Enterprises, which opened Petterino’s 20 years ago, said today that the restaurant would reopen, but it will no longer be part of the group’s restaurant empire.

Instead, a newly formed restaurant group will take over Petterino s, said a spokeswoman for the yet-unnamed group. She declined to comment on who is behind the group or give details on plans for Petterino s, but she did confirm it will keep its name.
