Concord officials this week said they’re glad at the prospect of mixed residential and commercial development around the city’s two BART stations in the next decade or so, and that they want to work with BART officials to help make it happen. But during a presentation by BART planners at Tuesday night’s Concord City Council meeting, city officials acknowledged BART will ultimately approve those development plans as part of the agency’s Transit Oriented Development program. “As city staff, we want to work as cooperatively as possible to achieve both the city’s goals as well as the BART district’s goals,” Guy Bjerke, Concord’s director of economic development and base reuse, told the council.

Two out-of-town investors are sending cash to the owners of affordable housing proximate to Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority (MARTA) stations. New York investment bank Morgan Stanley and a Chicago housing investor have pledged $100 million to preserve affordable housing near MARTA rail stations, reports Andy Peters in Atlanta. The money is limited to properties located within a mile radius of MARTA stations, according to Peters. Building owners can borrow money to refinance mortgages, buy new properties, make building improvements and take other steps to help preserve their existing supply of affordable units.

The objective of the initiative is to engage with stakeholders such as leading international real estate developers, infrastructure players and financial institutions from advanced geographies such as Europe, Australia and South Asia.
Rail Land Development Authority (RLDA), a statutory body under the Ministry of Railways, is planning to conduct virtual roadshows on the redevelopment of the New Delhi Railway Station (NDLS) project. These roadshows will be organised online from January 14 to 19, 2021.
These will be with investors and developers from various countries like Singapore, Australia, Dubai, and Spain, to discuss the project concept and the proposed transaction structure with the potential bidders.
