2 killed in Seattle after crossing train tracks, colliding with oncoming light rail train By Q13 News Staff SEATTLE - Two people died after attempting to cross some train tracks and were struck by an oncoming Link light rail train.  Seattle rescue crews responded to the incident on Martin Luther King Jr Way S at S Alaska St. in the Columbia City neighborhood around 6:30 p.m. Friday.  Crews within minutes of the incident happening were able to lift the train cars up and free the two people. Seattle Fire Department says one victim suffered critical injures and is being transported to Harborview Medical Center, the second person died due to fatal injures.

Seattle police said the train struck the pedestrians while they were crossing in a crosswalk during a “Don’t Walk” signal. At 6:20 p.m. police were called to the intersection of Martin Luther King Jr. Way South and South Alaska Street. Firefighters at the scene reported that two people had to be pulled from under a light rail car.

SEATTLE - The King County International Airport-Boeing Field announced that its deputy director was killed when a car hit his bike near Seattle s Seward Park on Sunday. Just before 7 p.m., a bicyclist later identified as 63-year-old Mile Colmant was traveling north on Seward Park Avenue South, east of Wilson Ave South. A driver then hit Colmant head-on while traveling southbound in the northbound lane of Seward Park Avenue South. The driver fled the scene.

A bicyclist was traveling north on Seward Park Avenue South just before 7 p.m. when a driver traveling south in the northbound lane struck the cyclist head-on, according to police. The driver fled the scene. Witnesses administered CPR until medics with the Seattle Fire Department arrived. The 63-year-old man was pronounced dead at the hospital.
