The six-month long hunt for Botswana National Sport Commission (BNSC) chief executive officer (CEO) may be over.
According to sources within the BNSC, the commission has identified current acting CEO Tuelo Serufho as its man for the job.
Serufho was seconded to the BNSC from sister organisation Botswana National Olympic Committee (BNOC).
Serufho was appointed acting BNSC CEO after the departure of Falcon Sediomo’s retirement.
He was allegedly offered contractual extension but opted to retire after having spent five year as the head of BNSC secretariat.
“As a norm his name was sent to Cabinet for approval and they have since done that. It is a matter of time before he could be revealed to the public” said the sources.

Botswana looking to host Commonwealth Karate Championships in 2023 Monday, 15 February 2021
The Botswana National Sport Commission (BNSC) and Botswana Karate Association (BOKA) have held discussions over requesting to host the 2024 Commonwealth Karate Championships a year earlier.
The BOKA was previously given the green light to bid for the event, and President Tshepho Bathai insisted there was nothing to stop Botswana from hosting the event in 2023 rather than the expected dates in 2024,
Mmegi reports.
While the publication reports that the BOKA has been provisionally awarded the right to host the Commonwealth Karate Championships, BNSC acting chief executive Tuelo Serufho stressed no official decision has been made.
