9 alleged drug peddlers held in city

DHAKA, MAY 16, 2021 (BSS) – Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) in different anti-narcotics drives arrested nine alleged drug peddlers on charges of selling and consuming drugs in the last 24 hours ending 6am today.
The Detective Branch (DB) of the DMP in association with respective police stations conducted the drives in different parts of the city.
A total of 410 pieces of contraband Yaba tablets, 250 grams of heroin and nearly 155 grams of cannabis were recovered from the possessions of the arrestees , said a DMP press release.
Seven cases have been filed against them under the Narcotics Control Act in this connection.

Chattogram s Fifth Additional Metropolitan Sessions Acting Judge Shariful Alam Bhuiyan issued the release order of the woman, Hasina Begum, on Tuesday.
Advocate Golam Maula Murad, Hasina’s lawyer, told bdnews24.com that she was released after suffering the penalties of another individual after going through a report from the police and the prison.
Omar Fuad, the bench assistant of the court, said the order also asks the police to bring in the real culprit.
