MUMBAI: A 22-year-old woman from South Africa who arrived from Johannesburg via Qatar, concealing around three kg of heroin worth Rs 9 crore and 10,000 rands (SA currency), was apprehended by the Narcotics Control Bureau on Thursday morning.
Khanyisile Promise Khalishwayo, a single mother of two, is the youngest woman to be arrested for drug-peddling in the recent past.
The team led by the NCB zonal director Sameer Wankhede, superintendent V V S Singh and other officers intercepted Khanyisile at the international airport in the city.
Around 2.9 kg heroin and SA currency worth Rs 50,000 were recovered. The drugs were concealed in the false cavity of her trolley bag. During interrogation she revealed that she knowingly carried the drugs. She has been booked under the NDPS Act.

Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], February 2 (ANI): Late actor Sushant Singh Rajput s friend and assistant director Rishikesh Pawar was detained for questioning, said the Narcotics Control Bureau on Tuesday.
The NCB, which has been probing the drugs angle in Sushant s death case, started the investigation after it received official communication from the Enforcement Directorate (ED), in which there were various chats related to drug consumption, procurement, usage, and transportation.
Sushant died by alleged suicide in his apartment on June 14, 2020.
Meanwhile, gangster Chinku Pathan, who was arrested in a drug case, was admitted to Mumbai s JJ Hospital following a health issue, an NCB official told ANI.

The anti-drug agency Narcotics Control Bureau on Wednesday arrested Parvez Khan, an aide of Mumbai fugitive don Dawood Ibrahim, in connection with a drug case in Navi Mumbai, an official said.
Alias Chinku Pathan, Khan was arrested with some drugs in possession.
He is a henchman of Underworld don Dawoon Ibrahim. and a relative of late Karim Lala a mafia don in Mumbai who operated for over two decades between the 1960s and early 1980s.

Mumbai, Jan 13 : In a major embarrassment for the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), the Narcotics Control Bureau on Wednesday questioned Samir Khan, son-in-law of state minister Nawab Malik, in an alleged drug-related case, sources said.
Khan appeared before the agency in the case after a few transactions between him and a drug peddler came to light and his statement was being recorded till this evening.
The NCB believes that the payments to a peddler were reportedly intended for drugs purchase and Khan was summoned to verify the details in the case pertaining to the seizure of a 200 kg drugs consignment last week in Mumbai.
